2. Timelines -- Tinderbox can display lists of events with start and/or end dates on a timeline. I used this to create the TalQaeda timeline, for example, or the list of moments where the Afghan or international military forces claimed to have killed or identified a Chechen fighter in Afghanistan.

If you've held off on updating for a while, this version gives you several good reasons to take the plunge, including much improved speed and some fine-tuning in the agent and rule syntax. An interesting difference between Quick Links and regular text links is the text anchor: in a Quick Link, that is automatically set to the Name of the note which is linked. If you want to change that, you can manoeuvre the insertion point into the anchor using the cursor keys, and edit it to read what you wish. When you use a normal text link, you select the text anchor, which can be any text you wish. These differences are worth bearing in mind when deciding which to use in any given context.
